Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Wil Okabe of Council District 4, to
the County of Hawaii Highway Safety Council.
Mr. Okabe is a 42-year resident of Hawaii and currently is a teacher at Hilo High School.
He is a member of the County of Hawaii Fire Commission. He has served as past chair
for the County of Hawaii Police Commission, past Board of Directors for the East
Hawaii Coalition for the Homeless, and past vice president for both Andrews
Association and Muni Links Association.
Mr. Okabe states that he is a member of the Democratic Party. He will serve a term
co-terminus with my own.
