Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Resolution No. 246-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 246-06, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase via
Communication No. 643, dated January 5, 2006; authorizes acceptance of a remnant parcel
(TMK(3)2-4-012:043), and rights-of--way (TMK (3)2-4-002:portions of 001 and 128) located in
Waiakea, district of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, from the State of Hawaii, for the
Kawailani Street improvements, `Iwalani Street to Pohakulani Street.
The owner, the State of Hawaii, is desirous of dedicating the subject properties to the County of
Hawaii.
Article XIII, § 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts
which include the dedication of land on behalf of the County of Hawaii.
There was no testimony from members of the public regarding the proposed acceptance.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 246-06 and recommends its adoption.
