Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Resolution No. 245-06, commending modern roundabouts for consideration in road, street, and
highway intersection design for use in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 193-05, Draft 2, was mistakenly labeled and should have been numbered as a
new resolution. Resolution No. 193-05, Drafr 2 was replaced in its entirety by Resolution
No. 245-06, transmitted by Council Member Bob Jacobson, via Communication No. 496.10,
dated January 11, 2006.
There was no testimony from members of the public regarding the proposed acceptance.
Bruce McClure, Director of Public Works, stated that the measure is a little more flexible then
Resolution No. 193-05.
Some members of Your Committee were concerned as to where these roundabouts would be
utilized and will there be a lot of signage like yield signs.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the
purpose and intent of Resolution No. 245-06 and recommends its adoption.
