IZESOLUT'ION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ~ ®ONATION OF AN AUTOIlAATE®
EXTERNAL DEFII~RILLiATOR FOR THE HILO AOIUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Golf Association has donated a wall mounted Phillips Automated External
Defibrillator (AED), model #M3857A, for the Hilo Municipal Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, the AED, with an estimated total value of $1,875, will be housed at the golf course starter's
office and will be used as needed to treat ventricular fibrillation, the most common cause of sudden cardiac
arrest; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED IBY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and a letter of appreciation be sent to the
Hawaii Island Golf Association, 82 Makalani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous
donation.
