Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 659, reports as follows:
Communication No. 659, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 25, 2006, nominates
Mr. David Y. Omura of Council District 2 and Mr. John H. Sucke of Council District 9 to the
Hawaii County Pension Board.
A resident of Hawaii for 55 years, Mr. David Y. Omura is currently a Financial Advisor with
Wachovia Securities. From 1985 to 2004, he was a Financial Advisor with UBS Financial
Services. He is a member of the KIlauea Masonic Lodge and the Ancient Order of Foresters. Of
no political party affiliation, he will serve a term to end December 31, 2009.
A resident of Hawaii for three years, Mr. John Sucke is retired after being employed since 1974
as an Executive Director with the Screen Actors Guild. He is a past treasurer of the National
Coalition Against Censorship, past executive secretary of the Association of Actors and Artists
of America, and a past trustee of the Screen Actors Guild Pension and Health Plan. Of no
political party affiliation, he will serve a term to end December 31, 2006.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. David Y. Omura and
Mr..Tohn H. Sucke to the Hawaii County Pension Board.
