Re. Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30. Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawai'i County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donation:
Shipping charges, valued at $19,140.54, to ship three (3) lifeguard towers (two for Hapuna
Beach and one for Kahalu'u Beach) from California to the Department of Parks and
Recreation Aquatics Division, by Matson Navigation Company, Mr. Russell Chin, Big Island
Manager, Pier 1, Hilo, Hawai'i 96720.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
