SUBJECT: HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT 2007 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET
Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
The Police Commission reviewed the Hawaii County Police Department's preliminary
Fiscal Year 2007 Budget and recommend support and approval from the County
Council.
Additionally, in light of the fact that our Police Department's civilian staff has not grown
since the 1990s, we emphatically recommend that the Supplemental Budget Requests,
which include 12 additional civilian employees and one sworn personnel, be approved
to help meet the ever growing needs of our Police Department.
On behalf of the Hawaii County Police Commission, your consideration in this matter
will be sincerely appreciated.
