Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 208, reports as follows:
Bill No. 208, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 248-06 by Director of Finance William Takaba, via
Communication No. 646, dated January 17, 2006, amends Ordinance No. OS-86, as amended, the Operating
Budget, ending June 30, 2006. The amendment is as follows:

The State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division,
derived from the Edwazd Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program has authorized aNon-Support
Prosecution project grant to the Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
The funds will be used to initiate investigation and prosecution of parents who are persistently non-compliant
with child support orders, with an emphasis on those with "off the books" income who evade their responsibility
to support their children.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor is
hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for aNon-Support Prosecution project grant.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 208 and recommends it pass tirst
reading.
