COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 301 06
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, a $16,000.00 appropriation will be used by the Department of Parks and
Recreation to purchase eight new starting blocks for Kohala Pool; and
WHEREAS, the existing starting blocks at Kohala Pool are over 30 years old and their
handles are badly rusted; and
WHEREAS, the existing starting blocks are installed at the shallow end of the pool and do
not comply with requirements to hold competitive age group and high school swim meets at Kohala
Pool; and
WHEREAS, there are four swim teams that train at Kohala Pool, including two age group
teams, the Kohala High School team, and the Countys novice swim and dive team; and members of
these various swim teams will use the new starting blocks on a daily basis at practice; and
WHEREAS, the new starting blocks will be installed at the deep end of the pool and comply
with requirements to hold competitive swim meets at Kohala Pool; and
WHEREAS, the County Department of Parks and Recreation will install the eight new
starting blocks at Kohala Pool.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount be and is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to
make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
