Re: Bill 243 Draft 2, Amending Ord. No. 95-82 authorizing issuance of GO Bonds
The referenced bill will be considered at the full Council meeting on Wednesday, April 5`". In
response to concerns about the use of the remaining funds from 1996A bond proceeds, we have
amended Bill 243 and designated specific projects to receive the funds. All unexpended funds
from the 1996A bond proceeds authorized by Ordinance No. 95-82 will be used only for
expenditures in the following projects:
Police Microwave Relocation & Renovation
New Waikoloa Ho oko Street Park
Kuakini Highway Improvements
Prosecuting Attorney Office Renovation
These four projects were chosen because they are active projects with current expenditures.
Because the funds must be spent prior to August 2006, it is important to designate them for use on
projects where they will be expended this fiscal year.
We request that you replace Bill No. 243 with the enclosed Draft 2 of this same bill.
