RE: Follow-up to Resolution 267-06 (Drafr 3)
On Mazch 1, 2006, the Hawaii County Council passed Resolution 267-06 (Draft 3),
which calls for the selection of a Council Member to serve as a liaison between the Council and
the Administration for the purpose of improving communication regarding the procurement
process and timetable with regard to any RFP Evaluation Committee selecting private vendors
proposing solid waste solutions for the County of Hawaii. Further, the Resolution contemplates
selection of the Council Member by the County Council's Committee of the Whole.
I respectfully request that this action by the Council's Committee of the Whole take place
as soon as practicable, so we may improve communication between the Council and the
Administration with regard to RFP 2210, the current procurement process for the Waste
Reduction Facility, as well as any future RFP Evaluation Committee selecting solid waste
vendors for the County of Hawaii.
