RESOLUTION NO. 3114 0~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, The Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary
organization of individuals committed to seeking solutions to the problems of farmers and of
rural communities; and
WHEREAS, The Big Island Farm Bureau (BIFB) represents 700 farm and ranch
families from four local chapters of The Farm Bureau, which are Hilo, Kona, Kamuela, and
Hamakua; and
WHEREAS, BIFB serves members of the agricultural community by providing
agricultural education and support, and by raising community awareness through the Big Island
Farm Fair activities; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that farm fair activities and festivals throughout the
world are fast becoming significant aspects of the tourism generating process; and
WHEREAS, "Mealani's A Taste of the Hawaiian Range Agricultural Festival," now
entering its fourth year in partnership with the visitor industry, is recognized as a strong agri-
tourism product ofHawai`i island; and
WHEREAS, "Mealani's A Taste of the Hawaiian Range Festival" plays a significant
role in the tourism market of the Big Island and provides visitors with a unique experience
through the blending of Hawaiian regional cuisine with our island's rich paniolo culture and
agricultural heritage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
Resolution.
