RESOLUTION NO. 31 ' (1 ~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Na Leo O Hawaii Community Television began in 1995 as anon-profit
organization dedicated to the creation of TV programs by and for the people of Hawaii Island
and management of the Public, Education and Government ("PEG") cable access channels; and
WHEREAS, Na Leo O Hawaii Community Television, in collaboration with the Big
Island Film Office, is sponsoring its first video contest for Hawaii Island youth under the theme
"Alternative to Drugs"; and
WHEREAS, our Hawaii Island youth are deserving of opportunities that will enourage
and enhance their knowledge of the film industry as a potential career endeavor; and
WHEREAS, through the process ofcreating aseven-minute anti-drug video, Hawaii
Island youth will experience a unique introduction into film production and film industry as a
profession; and
WHEREAS, recognizing the need for positive reinforcement in our youth, the
"Alternative to Drugs" video contest will enable participants to express their individual
creativity, increase awareness among their peers about the dangers of drug abuse and,
communicate their personalized anti-drug message.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE [T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
Resolution.
