RE: Resolution No. 260 Transfer of Funds
Kealakehe High School Project Grad - $5,000
Resolution No. 260, duly heard on February 28, 2006 and, being in accord with the purpose and
intent of Resolution No. 260, the Committee on Finance recommended its adoption.
On March 20, 2006 it was brought to our attention by the Corporation Counsel that the
appropriate County agency with anon-grant program specifically designated to support activities
such as that proposed by Resolution No. 260 is the Department of Liquor Control and not the
Department of Research ~ Development. We were informed that the Department of Liquor
Control has historically supported these kinds of activities and is the appropriate County agency
through which such appropriations and transfers occur.
Therefore, it is respectfully requested that the Council adopt Resolution No. 260 and authorize a
Draft 2 to be prepared that deletes reference to "Account Number 010.161.5162.98" and
"Department of Research & Development, Hawaii Resource Center" and replace it with
"Account No. 010.251.5251.39" and "Department of Liquor Control, Public Programs".
Accordingly, the above amendments of Resolution 260, Draft 2 shall read as follows:
