RESOLUTION NO. 31'~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, through a collaborative effort
with organizations in West Hawaii and volunteer citizens of the community, presents the
inaugural 2006 Kona Earth Festival, officially named E Pulama I Ka Honua (Cherish the Earth);
and
WHEREAS, the primary goal of E Pulama I Ka Honua (Cherish the Earth) is to raise
awareness and foster respect for the environment through culturally appropriate context; and
WHEREAS, the festival includes events such as Coral Reef Awareness Day, Malama
`Aina Clean Up Day, Keiki Surf for the Earth and Beach Clean Up, Kuleana Green Business
Conference, Planet Earth Film Festival, Tree Planting at O`oma Forest, Hualalai Summit 4x4
Tour, Jack's Diving Locker Ocean Fair, Kona Classic 2006 Photo Contest and Hawaii Island
Seed Exchange; and
WHEREAS, this month long celebration will provide visitors and citizens of West
Hawaii with opportunities to experience sensitive and ethical stewardship skills that promote
protection of Hawai`i's natural and cultural resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County ofHawai`i shall
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
Resolution.
