Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Resolution No. 258-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 258-06, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase via
Communication No. 677, dated February 2, 2006, authorizes acceptance of the dedication of
Real property, being a portion of Tax Map Keys (3)2-4-048:068, situate at Waiakea, in the district
of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, from William Takaba and Cheryl Ann Takaba for
future road widening purposes along the frontage of Edena Street in Hilo, Hawaii. The owners
aze desirous of dedicating the subject roadway to the County of Hawaii.
Article XIII, § 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts
which include the dedication of land on behalf on behalf of the County of Hawaii.
There was no testimony from members of the public regarding the proposed acceptance.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 258-06 and recommends its adoption.
