Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Fred T. Yamashiro of Council District 9 to the
County of Hawai'i Liquor Commission. Mr. Yamashiro, a lifelong resident of
Hawai'i, is the President of Menehune Development Co., Inc. He is currently a
member of the Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation, the Hawai'i
Island United Way, the YMCA, the Kawaihae Transitional Housing Advisory
Council, the Waimea Design Committee, the State of Hawai'i Board of Taxation
Review, and the Onizuka Memorial Committee.
Mr. Yamashiro states that he is a Republican. If confirmed, he will serve a term
to expire on December 31, 2010.
