RESOLUTION NO. 33.°d ~ 6
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, funds are needed to replace rusted and rotted rodeo arena panels,
bucking chutes, calf chutes, and stripping chutes at the Pana`ewa Equestrian Center; and
WHEREAS, $49,500 has already been appropriated to the Pana`ewa Equestrian
Center, and an additional $16,500 is being requested for a total cost of $66,000 to ship the
panels to the dealer in Waimea; and
WHEREAS, volunteers from the Hawaii Horse Owner's Association will transport
the panels to Hilo and install them at the arena; and
WHEREAS, the $66,000 will only cover the cost to replace those panels that are in
need of immediate replacement (approximate total cast would be $150,000); and
WHEREAS, the discretionary funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated
towards the Pana`ewa Equestrian Center at the request of the Department of Parks and
Recreation and the Hawaii Horse Owner's Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set
forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to
make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
