Omura of Council District 2 is a 55-year resident of Hawai `i and is a Financial Advisor with Wachovia Securities. Nol affiliated with any political party, if confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006. John H. Sucke of Council Distret 9 is a three-year resident of Hawaii, and is retired after being employed since 1974 as an Executive Director with the Screen Actors Guild. Comm. 664: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER (Res. 253-06) INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A DEPUTY PROSECUTOR TRAINING PROJECT; and (Bill 209) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. OS-86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2006 (appropriates a $15,854 Deputy Prosecutor Training Grant) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated Januazy 26, 2006, transmitting the above bill. The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has authorized the above grant, derived from Federal funds, to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. These funds will be used to make roads safer, and to improve performance of the law enforcement system in its efforts to enforce traffic laws by training deputy prosecuting attorneys in the conceptual, technical, scientific and trail aspects of these offences, and by having them participate in traffic commander meetings. FC-28 Page 4 February 14, 2006 (Bill 215) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. OS-86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2006 (appropriates $170,000 to the following accounts: Kawaihae Transitional Shelter, $136,000; and Hawaii Island Workforce Economic Development Ohana, $34,000) From Finance Director William Takaba, transmitting the above bills. Certifies that there is a balance of $3,727,401.95 in the General Fund fund balance as of June 30, 2005. Due to the implementation of the Kokua Bus Schedule this fiscal year, there will be a loss of $232,000 in bus revenues in the Operating Budget. After careful consideration of the departments and agencies, the attached bill proposes to appropriate $2,526,465 to various accounts, leaving a balance of $968,936.95, which is available to the Council for appropriation according to its priorities. Also attaches a bill to appropriate $170,000 which is proposed to be transferred into the Housing Fund. Attaches a summary of selected departmental requests by category type and an itemized description and justification of each fund balance proposal.
