RESOLUTION NO. 3°~'"8
A KESOLUTION TRANSFERKING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Waimea Community Development Planning (CDP) Committee is an
independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization of individuals committed to seeking
solutions to the problems of their rapidly expanding rural community; and
WHF,REAS, the Waimea CDP Committee meets on a monthly basis to better prepare
area residents to participate in the community development planning process, which is being
administered by the Planning Department and the Department of Research and Development;
and
WHEREAS, the Waimea CDP Committee serves members of the Waimea community
by providing planning and community development education and support, and by raising
community awareness through its monthly meetings, outstanding website, and community
outreach activities; and
WHF,REAS, the Department of Research and Development is currently engaged in a
"community readiness" program in the Waimea community, as well as in other communities
around I Iawai'i Island; and
WHEREAS, the Waimea CDP Committee is recognized as a model organization for
other communities around the island, because of its successful efforts to engage community
stakeholders, to publicize the CDP process, to educate residents about issues involved in the
CDP process, and to move the CDP process forward in the Waimea community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development seeks to support the Waimea
CDP Committee's publicity, communications, and public education efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $30,000.00
CREDITED TO:
• 010.161.5162.98 Department of Research & Development $30,000.00

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
Resolution.
