She is n school teacher at Kenlakehe Elementary, and couldn't be here today, although she would like to be here to ask you in person to do the right thing. I was born and raised on the Big Island. I have lived here all my life. I've lived and worked in Kona for 35 years. Sara was raised on Oahu. I'm retired now, and about 7 years ago, we bought a 5 acre parcel in Kaloko Mnuka. We've been farming for 6 years. We bought our unit because we loved the forest and I wanted to farm. When we bought the property, it was n 4-unit CPR nlrendy and we went in with 3 other families to purchase it. We bought the unit that had the house and there we finished raising our last child. We want you to know, he's n Kealakehe high graduate now, but not on the road anymore! He's serving in the U. 5. Marine Corps and will be not home for a long time. So if this is about traffic, that is one less person driving our car up and down Knloko Drive... I say this because we don't understand the impact on the traffic that our conversion from CPR to subdivision makes. I thought the county didn't want us to have n CPR? So the right thing to do is to convert the CPR into a subdivision. If it's the money, it's our understanding that the conversion should help fund that solution. We wont to do the right thing. One of those is to support our neighbors getting to build a house for them to live in with their family. We nlrendy hove our house, we just think that they ? Comm. PJo. Ll q 2' 7 Ref. To:~~~ Ref. Uate should be allowed to build a house for their family too. It's a good thing for our families and a good thing for the forest. We would like you to reconsider our rezoning request. We are the only lot on our street and one of the very few left in Kaloko Mauka that isn't a subdivision. Please do the right thing. Grant our request.
