Your Committee on Environmental Management, to which was referred Communication No.
735, reports as follows:
Communication No. 735, dated March 1, 2006, was transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim. In this
Communication, Mayor Kim submitted the nomination of Ms. Suzanne Mayhew of Council
District 5 to the Hawaii County Environmental Management Commission.
Ms. Suzanne Mayhew is a six-year resident of Hawaii and is the owner of Aikane Bicycle and
Sport Shack, a bicycle retail shop in Kea`au. She is presently the vice president of Family and
Community Education/Puna Wahine and a member of Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood
Watch. Ms. Mayhew states that she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she
will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2010.
Your Committee, having discussed Ms. Mayhew's qualifications, is in support of Ms. Mayhew's
nomination to the County of Hawaii Environmental Management Commission.
Your Committee on Environmental Management recommends the confirmation of the
appointment of Ms. Suzanne Mayhew to the Hawaii County Environmental Management
Commission.
