Re: Repairs to Pana`ewa Equestrian Center
Dear Council Member Arakaki:
Thank you for the opportunity to review and provide recommendations on the proposed bill to
amend the capital budget by appropriating $16,500 to assist in funding repairs to the Pana`ewa
Equestrian Center. The funding for this appropriation will come from the Clerk/Council
Services Contingency Relief account (Council District 3 discretionary funds.)
It is understood that two years ago, you provided $49,500 for improvements to the rodeo
arena. This amount has turned out to be insufficient. An additional $16,500 is needed to
purchase the material to replace rusted and rotted rodeo arena panels, bucking chutes, calf
chutes, and stripping chutes. This proposed appropriation is supported so that this needed
work can be done.
