RESOLUTION NO. 3~I6 ~6
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM TAE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, currently Laupahoehoe Park offers no specific amenities for its visitors, and
instead sits merely as a pristine area in need of improvement in the form of playground
equipment, benches, tables, public restroom facilities, etc.; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated community support group has been working in conjunction
with the Department of Parks and Recreation as Friends of the Park to improve Laupahoehoe
Park for the benefit of all Hawaii County residents seeking recreational opportunities in
Laupahoehoe; and
WHEREAS, this community group has expressed that the acquisition of playground
equipment for this parks improvement project is a primary goal within their vision statement and
will help tremendously with realizing the overriding goal of creating a complete and
comprehensive park setting at this site; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has concurred that these monies
will be expended explicitly on playground equipment and the materials required to install said
equipment at Laupahoehoe Park by the community group in Laupahoehoe acting as Friends of
the Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to
make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
