RESOLUTION NO. ~ 51 ~ ~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Na Kalai Wa`a Moku o Hawaii is an education based 501(c)3 non-profit
organization dedicated to foster appreciation of the Hawaiian culture and creating educational
opportunities relating to traditional canoe building, navigation and voyaging skills; and
WHEREAS, Na Kalai Wa`a Moku o Hawaii, in a joint effort with the Polynesian Voyaging
Society, Charter School students, Public School students and University ofHawai`i students, have
committed their support and participated in the building of a voyaging canoe for Master Navigator,
Papa Mau Piailug; and
WHEREAS, this educational program promotes recognition and cultural awareness
throughout all stages of this traditional canoe building process and embraces the Aloha Spirit in the
hearts and minds of the many multi-cultural and multi-generational participants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE TT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
