RE: Contingency Relief Funding for Roads-in-Limbo
This letter is to request that we be provided additional funds to cover expenses for the
rest of this fiscal year as we develop a Roads-in-Limbo policy. Below is our estimate for
what we need. We have already started accumulating bills for newspaper ads and
reproduction expenses, as well as staff overtime. We have requested funds to our
Supplemental Budget for next year, but we need help now.
We are asking the Council for $9,000 from the Contingency Relief to supplement the
amount we need for overtime of our staff that attends the public meetings around the
island at night. The account that should be credited is: 010.173.5173.01 Public Works
Administration S&W.

RE: (Resolution No. 347-06 : Transferring/Appropriating an Appropriation Out
and From the Designated Fund Account and Crediting Same to a Designated Fund
Account)
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
