J~tv os xk <br /> o.• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 1t~ p~•Nj,Y~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 364 06 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF <br /> REAL PROPERTY AT 891 ULULANI STREET TO ACCOMMODATE THE <br /> RELOCATION OF SOME OF THE OFFICES PRESENTLY IN THE COUNTY <br /> BUILDING AT 25 AUPUNI STREET <br /> WHEREAS, to complete the repairs and renovations to the County Building in the most <br /> expeditious way possible, the administration has decided to vacate the building while the work on the <br /> building takes place; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is estimated that a total of between 17,000 to 20,000 square feet of office space <br /> and another 6,000 to 7,500 square feet of storage space is needed to accommodate the departments <br /> presently in the County Building; and <br /> WHEREAS, one facility that is available and suitable for part of the office space requirements <br /> is located at 891 Ululani Street in Hilo and the former site of the VA Hilo Medical Office Building; and <br /> WHEREAS, this property is located across from the Hawaii County Police Department and <br /> <br /> contains atwo-story building with approximately 11,996 square feet of office space and 28 parking <br /> stalls that can be reconfigured to include a few more; and <br /> WHEREAS, the owner of the building, Harvey S. Tajiri and Helene H. Tajiri, as a condition of <br /> <br /> this lease, shall secure an adjacent property, providing parking for about forty (40) additional <br /> automobiles and provided at no cost to the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or other <br /> obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year and more than one <br /> fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> <br />
