SUBJECT: Resolution Transferring Funds (District 5)
Discretionary funds from District 5 will be used for the purchase of video camera
equipment for the Pahoa High and Intermediate School, which recently experienced two fire
incidents in January 2006.
The Pahoa High and Intermediate School is in need of video camera equipment to
provide security and maintain a safe environment for students and facilities on the campus of
Pahoa High and Intermediate School.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the transfer of $28,000.00 from the Clerk-Council
SVC-Contingency Relief account to the following account and project:

Please find enclosed a concurrence letter for your signature regarding an appropriation of
$28,000 to be used for the purchase of video camera equipment to provide security and maintain
a safe environment for students and facilities on the campus of Pahoa High and Intermediate
School. The $28,000.00 appropriation will be administered by the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney, which will grant the funding to Malama O Puna, a Hawaii non-profit organization, for
the purchase of the video camera equipment for the Pahoa High and Intermediate School.

RE: Resolution, Bill or Communication No. 372-06 : Transfer of Discretionary Funds for
Fiscal Year 2005-2006 (Prosecuting Attorney - Weed and Seed Coordinator)
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
