If my information is correct (I have not seen the wording) only the Planning Director would have the final say on how a subdivision is to be developed and whether it is to be dev d o ff wish there had been more information available on such an important subject. I On the face of it, it sounds as if too much power is put into one person's hands. The fact that we may have a great planning dire L during one administration does not preclude having a poor one in future administrations. But the greatest danger is cutting ou t_yy,r 1qr t,b1TG input from decisions that affect a community. I can't believe this is actually being proposed. Yes, involving the public can be-N^-P,_ ,~r~consuming and messy but that is what democracy is all about. sY What we really need is more timely public input, then if a subdivision ii granted, the developer must be held to the plans and arFGt Wid4 made. Too often we are told that plan A is what the subdivision will ook like and we get plan X. We end up with something tk o r,,p _,f fip/y resemble the original publicly announced plan. Then we wonder why our communities grow in such a topsy-turvy manner. Unless my information is incorrect (in which case it should be explained) I ask that the Council reject this proposal.
