I would like to express my support for the Change of Zone process for the property above Lowes at TMK's 7-
5-3: 007, 008 & 009, which is referenced no REZ 06-000026 by the County Council for the following reasons:
1) The developer being a Hawaii based development group with strong commitment and track record of
community support and social seivieea.
2) Our Local Salvation Army has a long history in this community, really needs to have a facility at this
location and has been working on this site about four years now.
3) The location has Infrastructure in place, and Is aheady designated "Urban" by the Stato I..and Use
Commission and is designated for "Urban ExpansiW by the County General Plan.
a) The project helps expand Kona's road system somewhat, bringing a mid-level road closer to reality.
5) No archeological or culturally significant sites are on the Salvation Army property.
6) The State and National chapters of Salvation Army are in support of the Kona Salvation Army expansion
plane.
