TESTIMONY FOR Bill 268 Fair and Equitable Access to Governmental
Process.
I am in SUPPORT BILL 268 - FAIR AND EQUITABLE ACCESS TO
GOVERNMENTAL PROCESS
Citizens of the Big Island need and deserve access and representation to
their government. A recurrent theme from the Kona Development Plan
meetings is the recognition of the role government plays in our lives, and
how it has failed the people of Hawaii County.
Government by and for the people is just that, and failure to
conduct those affairs in the venue where the ci*ens are directly
effected is disenfranchisement.
If the Hawaii County Council is not willing to respond to this question of
accountability and fairness, they should allow for the creation of a separate
municipality to address the issue.
We need TAXATION WITH REPRESENTATION.
