HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0687.030 2004-2006 RE: Locating UH Campus on Property at Kealakehe Parkway and Queen K Hwy There's been some discussion of locating the new UH Kona campus on the property located at the corner of Kealakehe Parkway and Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway, mauka of the highway. PLEASE do not build the campus there. THAT PROPERTY IS LOCATED RIGHT NEXT TO TAE CITY DUMP. It reeks of garbage and rotten vegetation. It is especially noticeable in the mornings. I know, because I drive past it every morning on my way to work at Kealakehe High School. At times, if the wind is prevailing from that direction, the stench is pervasive even as far away as the high school, all day. When the wind shifts and comes out of the north, that property stinks from the nearby feedlot. It wou{d be a horrible mistake to build at that location. PLEASE consider other options!
