Aloha,
I support the planned community at Palamanui. I have been a resident of West Hawaii for over 18 years.
Back in 1988 when the Hyatt Regency at Waikoloa opened I saw the sleepy town of Waikoloa grow. Now there is
a town
with shopping, a gas station, restaurants and schools. This is now the community of Waikoloa. This is a good
place to live.
I feel that the community of Palamanui will be a good place to live as well. The plan calls for shopping, parks,
and work places
within easy walking distance of each other. There will also be large park spaces, and maukalmakai connector
roads to help
all of West Hawaii residents with the growing problem of traffic congestion.
The future of West Hawaii development should be north of the airport and south of Waikoloa. This will have less
impact on
our over grown town of Kona.
With well planned communities such as Palamanui along the way, there will be room for all to share
the beauty of West Hawaii with Aloha.
