This is to transmit Bill 260, Draft 3, which contains revisions to the Salary Ordinance of 2006.
The revisions are proposed to allow each council member the option of requesting a 5% step raise for
their Council District staff Council Aides (CA-1), Council Aide to the Council Chairperson (CA-2),
Council Legislative Assistants (CLA-1).
• Pages 2 and NSECTION 3(B): Adds the positions of Council Aide, Council Aide to the Council
Chairperson and Council Legislative Assistant to the pay grade scale as follows:

CLA-1 A_ B
41.076 43,140
• Pages 4 and 5/SECTION 7: Replaces the specific salary of the Council Legislative Assistant, Council
Aide, and Council Aide to the Council Chairperson with CLA-1, CA-1, and CA-2, respectively:
Item Title Pa Grade
3 Council Legislative Assistant $43,-140 CLA-1
6 Council Aide $460] CA-1
7 Council Aide to the Chair U9,928 CA-2
The added step for the legal specialist provides flexibility and a competitive edge to attract an experienced
and qualified attorney from the private sector or the Offices of the Corporation Counsel and Prosecuting
Attorney in the future. It should be noted that the budgeted salaries of the deputy corporation counsels
and several prosecuting attorneys are more than the proposed step for the legal specialist.
