Your Committee on Planning to which was referred Communication No. 822, reports as follows:
Communication No. 822, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 11, 2006, nominates Mr. Peter
Hendricks of Council District 1 to serve on the County of Hawaii Boazd of Appeals.
Mr. Hendricks is a 41-year resident of Hawaii and from 2003 to 2005, he served as the Deputy Managing
Director for the County of Hawaii. From 1988 to 2000, Mr. Hendricks was an Education Specialist with
the State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources. Mr. Hendricks is currently retired and
volunteers with the YMCA and served as past president of the Waimea Community Association and the
Kawaihae Canoe Club. He states he is not affiliated with any political party and if confirmed, he will
serve a term to expire on December 31, 2010.
Pursuant to Section 13-4, Hawaii County Charter, the Board of Appeals shall consist of members
appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council.
Your Committee on Planning recommends the confirmation of Mr. Peter Hendricks to the County of
Hawaii Board of Appeals.
