Your Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred
Communication No. 829, and attached Bi11269, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 269 is to adopt "Hawai`i Fire Department" as the official title of the
department.
Communication No. 829, dated February 1, 2006, transmitted by Fire Chief Darryl Oliveira,
proposes to ensure standardization and recognition of the department's name by adopting
"Hawai`i Fire Department" as the official title.
Your Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bi11269, and recommends that it pass first reading.
