RE: Public Testimony
Communications 667, Resolution 255-06
La'aloa Street Extension Project
First I want to thank Councilwoman Virginia Isbell, for taking the time to listen to the
Alii Heights Subdivision community and for making the time to write and submit
Resolution 255-06.
Alii Heights does not have a homeowner's association and accordingly no official
representation. However, I believe that I have talked with enough of our residents to
represent them in an unofficial capacity. To support this claim, I spent a few hours this
weekend to talk with a few of my neighbors about this Resolution. I obtained 36
signatures on the attached Alii Heights Resident's -Public Testimony documents. An
overwhelming majority, 95% of my neighbors signed this document in support of
Resolution 255-06. As part of my testimony, I would like to read the statements included
in the document they signed.
Assuming that this Resolution is moved onto the County Council's Agenda and passed. I
would offer my services as a Community volunteer to drive to Hilo once a month and
meet with the La'aloa Street Extension Project Manager. The purpose of the meeting
would be to review project schedules and become awaze of any problems that could stop
or slowdown the project. I would then report these issues back to your committee with
the intent to obtain resources necessary to get the project back on track.
Sincerely,
Denny Coffman
