Although the University of Hawaii at Palamanui would be a great asset to our community it is not the only factor that should be considered in approving this project. Aside from the University, this project will offer many other valuable assets to our community. Following are some of the benefits: • Connector road (mauka to makai) 200 units of affordable housing (which is greatly needed in our community) • Increased tax base (to create and support existing infrastructure) • County water supply improvements • 55-acre dry land forest preserve (offering environmental education opportunities) • Job opportunities (in construction, sales and management) • Services for Kona Palisade's residence as well as surrounding communities • Urban expansion to the north of Kailua-Kona Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
