Re: Testimony in Opposition to Bill 246
Bill 246 Grants to much authority to the Hawaii County Planning Director when more authority should be provided
for public participation.
Everyone is talking about how crowded the roads are and how current growth seems to be completely
uncontrolled. The people who live in Hawaii must have an opportunity for input before developers move forward.
It may be more time consuming to go through the channels for approval. Nevertheless, it provides the time and
framework for the community to review the pros and cons of new development.
We do not need more power concentrated into the hands of fewer people! Vote NO on Bill 246 and maintain the
opportunity for public input.
