Dear Chairman Pilago,
I strongly oppose Bill 246.
Bill 246 giving the Planning Director authority to approve or disappove subdivisions is simply bad public policy and
contrary to the ever going need for openess in government.
Bill 246 could undermine good land use policy as well as the best of community plans, like those being developed
for Kona.
At at time when state and federal goverments are increasingly secretive in conducting business dominiated by
special interests, this county can do better.
Keep public policy decision making in the open for all to see and comment. This is the basis of true democractic
goverment and land use policy that reflects the public will.
