The Hilo Downtown Irprovement Association supports Councilman Ikeda's
request for funds to study the feasibility and costs associated with extending the beach
park along Hilo Bay closer to downtown. Our Board of Directors met Thursday, May
ADVISORS 11 to hear and consider the proposal and voted unanimously to support it. As you
Dlam Van De Car know, the Hilo Downtown Improvement Association is comprised of property owners,
Attomey businessmen and women, and civic-minded individuals.
Hilo's bay front beach was once a major attraction for social events and family
gatherings, and could once again be such. By moving it closer to the downtown core,
it would become more convenient and accessible to those many people who frequent
the downtown area for shopping, historical torus, and cultural events.
Please support Councilman Ikeda's funding request for this study. Please cast your
vote in favor of this request.
Respectfully submitted,
awes M. O'Keefe
