Dear Councilman Holschuh and Members:
I am against the Bill (268) to amend the charter to have equal numbers of county
council meetings in West Hawaii. For all my life, with the exception of recent years,
most of the County of Hawaii's tax base was in East Hawaii. The seat of county
government has always been in East Hawaii.
It is my feeling that the county should remain united and council meetings should
be held in West Hawaii on a quarterly basis as it is now. The chair is always able to hold
more meetings in West Hawaii when West Hawaii issues are scheduled.
Please do not support Bill 268. Thank you.
