RE: SEWER CONNECTION - TMK 2-3-023:002
I am in receitp of your letter dated November 17, 1997.
Please be advised that I will not be paying any sewer bills
as my property is not hooked up to the system. This is an
absurd request. Would you pay a bill or bills from a doctor,
store, etc. which you did not receive any service or goods??????
Do not send me any more of the attached bills. Thank you very much.

SUBJECT: SEWER CONNECTION
TMK: 2-3-023:002
We have reviewed your request regazding the subject sewer connection.
It has been determined that although your property is accessible to the sewer, your lot is below the
level of the sewer and would require the installation of a pump to lift the sewage to a proper elevation
for discharge into the sewer. $ased on the current County Code, you aze exempt from the connection
requirements- However, State regulations still require conaectiola and you could be subject to
enforcement by the Deparhrlent of Health in the future. In the interest of protecting the envirotunent,
we would encourage you to investigate alternative means of connection including the use of grinder
pumps. The costs of these systems aze comparable to that of a conventional gravity sewer hook-up.
You aze reminded that, according to Section 21-31of the County Code, `sewer user charges shall be
assessed to all lots accessible to a sewer whether connected or not'. In other words, you will be
responsible for paying the sewer bill regardless of the status of your exemption request.
