Cc: Pilago, K. Angel Subject: Please vote no on BILL 224 I am writing to urge all counsel members to vote no on Bi11224, would approve the rezoning from Ag. and Open to Project District for the Hiluhilu-Palamanui project. This is the wrong subdivision plan in the wrong place at the wrong time. Such extensive projects should not be approved until after the infrastructure needed to support them is finished and in place. Please respect the wishes of the local residents on this issue. I've talked to many neighbors and friends in the Kailua-Kona area and NONE of them think this subdivision is a good idea. They're concerned about the danger to children, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers on both the upper highway and Queen K, they're concerned about over-development of our fragile ecosystem and glorious island and they're concerned about turning Queen K into a polluted pazking lot from past Hualalai into town. Before taking any action on this item, I arge you to spend an hour or two talking to your constituents and hearing what they think. Please look past the sweeteners offered by the developers and realize that they're asking you to swallow a bitter pill for Kona. Thank you, Dawn Henry 73-4156 Ka'ao Place Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 Comm.
