Subject: testimony on Bill 246 incomplete applications
I ask that the County Council vote NO on 246.
The Council should not put itself in the place of assuming what a developer intends to do. It is not a
mindreader. It should not rely on hearsay or promises but on direct testimony, the written record, and
fully bonded and indemnified issues of fact.
The law was written specifically to provide for complete information; it should be honored. To find a
way to weasel around sound legal statutes is to invite trouble and, all too often, corrective action at the
County's expense. Let the developers do their homework rather than ask the Council to overlook critical
issues that impact the health, safety, and well being of the Island residents.
Vote NO on 246.
