SUBJECT: Resolution Directing the Clerk of the County of Hawaii to
Take Necessary Action to Place the Charter Amendment
Proposed by Ordinance No. 06-84
on the 2006 General Election Ballot
The attached proposed resolution, relating to the County Charter amendment
proposed by Ordinance No. 06-84, to raise the low threshold of registered voters
required to bring charges for impeachment against an elected officer or officer
appointed to a vacancy in any elected office, and provide that only those voters
registered in the council district of a respective council member may bring
charges to the circuit court when impeaching such district council member, is
hereby respectfully submitted for your favorable review and consideration.
The proposed resolution is required by section 15-2, article XV, Hawai`i County
Charter, entitled, "CHARTER AMENDMENT OR REVISION."
