Subject: Resolution 381-06 - please APPROVE
Mr. Chairman and council members,
I urge you to pass Councilman Pilago's resolution 381-06.
So many citizens of Kona are dedicating so much of their time and
working
so diligently to develop the Kona CDP, that you OWE it to them to put a
short temporary pause in new development approvals until that plan is
completed. Let it be the will of the community that dictates the
development picture here.
If you do not, you will only be affirming the skeptical view expressed
by so
many here (and especially among the youth) that this council, and the
Hawaii County bureaucracy does not care about the opinion of those
living
in Kona.
If however you do support the resolution, as I urge, you will be
sending a
message to the people of Kona that you honor their opinions and resepect
their right to shape the community in which they live.
