'fhe Recreation llivision of the Department of Parks and Recreation would like to request
$SOOAO to purchase a portable basketball system. We will be asking Council member
Jamcs Arakaki for a matching anrount to purchase the second basketball system.
Council member Arakaki has already given $200.00 and we will be asking him for the
remainder of the cost . This will be used for the 8 and under basketball program at
Shipman Gym and at the Yahoa and Hawaiian Beaches facilities.
Your positive consideration of my request would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Attached Resolution in regazds to Appropriating/Transferring Funds
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regards to Resolution No. 193 ,authorizing the
transfer of discretionary funds, waiving said referral from the Committee of Finance in order that
appropriate action can be taken by the Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such a waiver be granted.
