Arakaki and Members of the County Council County of Hawaii Hilo, HI 96720 Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members: It is my pleasure to submit the following nominations to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission: • Donald E. Abdul of Hilo who is a lifetime resident of Hawaii, and since 1978 has been the General Construction and Building Supervisor of the State of Hawaii Housing Authority. He is the Chairman of the Board of Unit 2, HGEA; Vice President of the AFL-CIO; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party; and is presently a member of the Hawaii County Police Commission, a seat that he will vacate after December 31, 1997. He is a Democrat. • Charles H. Sakamoto of Ka'u is a 59-year resident of Hawaii, and is a retiree of the Ka'u Agribusiness Co., Inc. (1953-1996). In the past he has served on the Hawaii County Water Commission, Planning Commission and presently sits on the Police Commission, a position he will vacate after December 31, 1997. Mr. Sakamoto will replace William Keanu of Ka'u and will represent the District of Ka'u. Both gentlemen will serve a term to end December 31, 2002. Abdul and Charles H. Sakamoto to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission, waiving said referral from the committee of Finance in order that appropriate action can be taken by the Council.
