RESOLUTION NO. 4_'l 2 iD ~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the 4"' of July is a national celebration commemorating the adoption of the
Declazation of Independence in 1776; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Pazks and Recreation and the Lehua Jaycees invited the
public to attend "Blast 2006", analcohol-free, drug-free and litter-free event, which was held on
Tuesday, July 4, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Mo`oheau Park Bandstand in
Downtown Hilo; and
WHEREAS, the American Privateer LYNX arrived in Hilo Harbor on July 3, 2006. She
was launched on July 28, 2001 and is a replica of a naval schooner from the Waz of 1812. The
LYNX mission is to preserve American Heritage through Maritime Education; and
WHEREAS, the entertainment for the 4`h of July "Blast 2006" included LYNX's Canon
Firing, Hiccup Circus, Ho`okani Pila, Kristopher Fuchigami, Brittni Paiva, Hawaii County Band
and the Lehua Jaycees' Fireworks Exhibition; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds ($2,000) from Council District 4 will be appropriated
towazds the 4`h of July "Blast 2006" event at the request of the Department of Pazk and
Recreation and Lehua Jaycees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:
010.500.5517.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $2,000.00

BE IT FINALLY RE50LVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
